This work places three-dimensional forms resembling the shape of paddles—tools for rowing boats—in a stream overgrown with vegetation, conceptualizing the idea of each individual freely charting new courses at their own rhythm. We created this work using milky white wax that, while having a different texture and scale from glass which we have long been interested in, softly embraces light and slowly spreads through space. The concept of this "ROWING BOATS" has since become the starting point for various jewelry creations by Gleichenia.
