DRIP Pendant
Pate de Verre Glass & Silver — Capturing a Moment of Liquid Suspension
Wearing a Dripping Form
Material : Silver, Glass, Silk cord
W40 x D5 x H45 mm
The DRIP Pendant is glass jewelry inspired by a slowly dripping shape — that suspended moment when liquid gathers weight but has not yet fallen. A softly flowing form, refined to a clear silhouette, where the glass appears almost liquid while the hard texture of silver provides structure. Two states of matter held together in a single piece.
DRIP is part of Gleichenia's HONEYBEE series — a group of collections inspired by the ecosystems that bees help sustain. Where DANDELION & BLOWBALL capture the lifecycle of flowers, DRIP captures the moment of honey in suspension — the slow, viscous drip that connects bees' work to its most familiar form.
We make each glass motif in our Tokyo studio using our approach to pate de verre — crushed glass mixed with color powder and pigment, fired in a kiln, then cut and ground by hand into the dripping form. The process captures small air bubbles and subtle variations in translucency, giving each pendant an internal character visible only when light enters.
A Silhouette That Rises in Light
The glass motif is held by minimal silver claws — supporting it at points rather than enclosing it, so the pendant's silhouette appears light and the full contour of the form is visible. The thickness, curves, and layering rise up unobstructed.
When light enters the glass, the shading within its transparency and the small internal bubbles emerge, and the expression changes subtly depending on the viewing angle. The closer one looks, the more one discovers — depth that reveals itself gradually.
